Materials needed to start scrap booking
Scrapbooking is a very popular hobby throughout the world, especially in North America. It is a wonderful way to preserve memories as well as other interesting embellishments, and the best part is that its a lot of fun too. But scrap booking nowadays is merely not just pasting photos on to the pages, but preserving them in an interesting and entertaining manner. The thing whereScrapbooking is there is a huge range of scrap booking supplies out there to make any scrapbook album. You can possibly dream of.
Album: for most scrapbooks the first thing you need is an album. Scrapbook albums are available in multiple shapes and sizes: 12 x 12, 8 x 8, 6 x 6 and also in 8.5 x 11.There is also a good choice of styles for your scrapbook albums choose from Linen, plastic or even leather. . The pages of an album should however be acid-free and lignin-free because acid and lignin help in the acceleration of photo-fading.
Paper: After carefully choosing the album, the next thing to do is choose the sort of paper you are going to use in the album. Card stock pages provide the best support for photographs. Vellum and soft-mulberrys paper can also be used to add some texture to the scrapbook.
Cutting Supplies: They are vital for scrap booking because scrap bookingrequires a lot of cutting work. The best thing to use is a 12 rotary paper cutter because it can be used with 8x11 or 12x12 sized paper too. A pair of ultra fine scissors is also required. They help us cut small portions of paper with utter delicacy so that the other parts of the picture dont get ruined.
Adhesives: You will be able to find several different types of adhesives are available on the market. But for a start, you will only need some basic ones. Double-sided tape is often useful for sticking clippings on the pages. Photo corner tape is useful for sticking pictures and vellum tape is useful for sticking transparent substances. A good general liquid adhesive is also great to keep on hand.
Pens: In Scrapbooking, a lot of different kinds of pens and markers are used. You will need some acid-free pens (for journaling) so that the scrapbook paper doesnt get ruined. Pens are also great for adding doodles and other descriptive writing on your pages.
Clear Acrylic Stamps: add some style to your scrapbook albums with acrylic stamps. They are clear and easy to see what you are stamping.
This is the basic set of things that you need for a head-start in scrap booking. I hope scrap booking gives you the same amount of pleasure as it gives me.
